Empowering Young Mothers through Small Business Support Initiative

The Empowering Young Mothers through Small Business Support Initiative is a livelihood project implemented by Happy Family Rwanda Organization (HFRO) to uplift young and vulnerable mothers facing economic challenges. Many teen and single mothers struggle to provide for their families due to limited education and lack of employment opportunities.

This project seeks to empower them by supporting small income-generating activities such as retail shops, tailoring, or local food businesses. HFRO will provide practical entrepreneurship training, start-up capital, and ongoing mentorship to help mothers effectively manage and grow their businesses. Beneficiaries will also be encouraged to form savings groups to promote financial discipline and mutual support.

By strengthening women’s economic resilience, the project will enhance household income, improve child welfare, and reduce dependency. Ultimately, it will enable young mothers to become self-reliant, active contributors to their communities, and role models for others facing similar challenges.
